How to Keep Yourself Healthy During Flu Season

Flu season is upon us, and it's important to take the necessary steps to keep yourself healthy. Here are some tips on how to stay healthy during flu season:

1. Get Vaccinated: One of the best ways to protect yourself from the flu is by getting vaccinated. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone six months of age and older get a flu vaccine each year. Getting vaccinated will help reduce your risk of getting sick and can also help protect those around you who are more vulnerable, such as young children, pregnant women, and older adults.

2. Wash Your Hands: Washing your hands with soap and water is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs that can lead to illnesses like colds or the flu. Be sure to wash your hands often throughout the day, especially after using the restroom or before eating food.

3. Avoid Close Contact With Others Who Are Sick: If someone in your household has a fever or other symptoms associated with colds or the flu, try to limit contact with them as much as possible until they are feeling better. This will help reduce your risk of becoming infected with whatever virus they have been exposed to. It’s also important to avoid close contact with anyone outside of your household who has a fever or other signs of illness such as coughing or sneezing.

4. Eat Nutritious Foods: Eating nutritious foods such as fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, whole grains and low-fat dairy products can help boost your immune system so that it’s better able to fight off viruses like those that cause colds and flus during this time of year. Also be sure you’re drinking plenty of fluids throughout the day which will help keep you hydrated which can also aid in keeping you healthy during this time period when illnesses are more common than usual due to colder temperatures outside leading people indoors where viruses tend spread more easily from person-to-person contact due being in closer proximity within smaller spaces than if outdoors where air circulation helps keep germs contained over larger areas where people aren’t congregating together in large numbers at any given time within small areas like inside homes/buildings etc…

5 . Get Plenty Of Rest & Exercise Regularly: Getting adequate rest each night is essential for helping our bodies fight off infections like those caused by colds and flus while exercising regularly helps keep our immune systems strong so we’re better able defend against viral infections too! So make sure you're getting at least 7-8 hours sleep every night plus engaging in regular physical activity throughout each week too!
