Heartburn

Heartburn is a burning feeling in the chest caused by stomach acid rising up into the esophagus. It is a common symptom of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), which can be caused by certain lifestyle habits, such as eating large meals or lying down after eating. Other symptoms of GERD include a sour taste in the mouth, difficulty swallowing, and chest pain. Treatment for heartburn typically includes lifestyle changes, medications, or surgery.
