Oral Cancer

Oral cancer is a type of cancer that occurs in the mouth and can affect any part of the oral cavity, including the lips, tongue, cheeks, floor of the mouth, hard and soft palate, sinuses and pharynx (throat). It can also occur in salivary glands. Oral cancer is most commonly caused by smoking or excessive alcohol use. Treatment usually involves surgery to remove the tumor followed by radiation therapy and/or chemotherapy.
