Heart Failure

Heart failure is a condition in which the heart is unable to pump enough blood to meet the body’s needs. It can be caused by many different conditions, including coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Symptoms can include fatigue, shortness of breath, and swelling in the feet or ankles. Treatment may include lifestyle changes such as quitting smoking and exercising regularly; medications; and medical procedures such as angioplasty or bypass surgery.
