Genital Herpes

Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted infection caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV). It can cause sores and blisters on and around the genitals, rectum, thighs, and buttocks. Symptoms can include itching, burning, pain, and discharge from the affected area. The virus is spread through direct skin-to-skin contact during sexual activity. There is no cure for genital herpes, but antiviral medications can help reduce symptoms and prevent outbreaks.
