How to Comfort a Teething Baby

If you have a baby who is teething, you know how uncomfortable and cranky they can be. Teething can be a difficult time for both baby and parent. Fortunately, there are several ways to provide comfort for your teething baby.

1. Offer Cold Items: Cold items such as a chilled teething ring or cold washcloth can help numb the sore gums of your teething baby and provide them with relief from the discomfort of their new teeth coming in. Just make sure that whatever item you offer is safe for your child to chew on and not too cold so as to cause any harm.

2. Give Baby Massage: Gently massaging your baby’s gums with a clean finger or soft cloth can help relieve some of the pain associated with teething. You may even want to try using an age-appropriate topical ointment that contains natural ingredients like chamomile or clove oil to further soothe your little one’s tender gums.

3. Try Homeopathic Remedies: There are many homeopathic remedies available that are designed specifically for babies who are teething, such as Hyland's Baby Teething Tablets or Boiron Camilia Teething Relief Drops which contain natural ingredients like chamomile, belladonna, and passion flower extract which may help reduce inflammation in the gums and provide some relief from pain associated with teething.

4. Offer Comforting Distractions: When all else fails, try distracting your little one from their discomfort by offering them comforting activities like reading stories together, singing songs, playing gentle music, taking walks outside in fresh air or just cuddling close while they rest on you lap – anything that will help take their mind off of their sore gums!

Teething is an inevitable part of being a parent but it doesn't have to be miserable! With these tips on how to comfort a teething baby, hopefully you'll find something that works best for both you and your little one!
