How to Help a Fussy Baby During Teething Time

The teething process can be a difficult time for babies and their parents. As your baby's teeth start to come in, they may become increasingly fussy and uncomfortable. Fortunately, there are some simple steps you can take to help soothe your baby during this time.

1. Provide Teething Toys: Give your baby something to chew on that is safe and specifically designed for teething babies, such as a rubber teether or a cloth toy filled with water or gel that can be cooled in the refrigerator. This will help relieve the pressure on their gums as they cut through their teeth.

2. Use Topical Treatments: There are several topical treatments available over-the-counter that can provide relief from teething pain, such as gels or creams containing benzocaine or lidocaine that should be applied directly to the gums of your baby’s mouth before feeding them.

3. Offer Cold Foods: You may want to consider offering cold foods such as frozen fruit popsicles, yogurt, or applesauce when it is time for your baby’s meals since cold temperatures can help numb the area where the tooth is coming in and provide relief from discomfort associated with teething pain.

4. Massage Gums: Massaging your baby’s gums with a clean finger can also help provide relief from discomfort associated with teething pain since it increases circulation in their mouth which helps reduce inflammation around the new tooth coming in.

5 .Give Extra Comforting: When all else fails, sometimes all you need is extra comforting and cuddles! Babies are comforted by physical touch so make sure you give plenty of hugs and kisses during this difficult time!
